Low upload speed

When downloading a file from the server, the speed is about 250-300 Kib/s. Not exactly what I'd expect from a dedicated 400 Mbit/s port.

Edit: A speed test to a server near me shows much higher transfer rates
Testing download speed........................................ Download: 165.33 Mbit/s Testing upload speed.................................................. Upload: 92.93 Mbit/s

Still when I directly try to download a file on my 120 Mbit/s home connection the transfer rate is a lot lower. It's the same for http, sftp and scp.

Edit2: Trying again today the speed varies between 5 Mib/s and 15 Mib/s (maximum of my home connection)

I have the exact same problem and opened a ticket. Hope they can fix it. Because with these upload speeds the server is nearly unuseable.

At home: download from anywhere=290Mb, upload to anywhere=100Mb
But
From my home to time4vps=100Mb => OK
From time4vps to my home=2Mb to 5Mb => !!!

What's the problem?

I have opened a ticket but no response.

Hello, I have the same problem on a storage VPS. The speed decreased drastically in the last few weeks.
I tryed from other node also, and I am sure it's not depending from my home connection.

The speed test sounds good:

Testing download speed........................................

Download: 193.84 Mbit/s

Testing upload speed..................................................

Upload: 157.58 Mbit/s

but from my pc the download speed I can obtain is maximum around 1-2 megabit.

Update:

I think the lower speed was caused by a system overloading I generated.
I started some service for testing purpose, and I left it running while not needed.
After some clieaning, now the speed is back to normal.

So: it was my fault!

I am with Time4VPS by two year, and I have to say the service is really GREAT.
